The EcoLoam Project aims to function as a city that runs without the use of harmful fossil fuels. We have completely eliminated the use or need for cars within EcoLoam through our innovative transportation innitiatives.

Transportation Overview

Walking will be one of the main method of transportation throughout the city, all homes will be located within walking distance of everything the citizens need such as grocery stores, schools, and multi-use buildings. There will also be a magnetic train system, which does not emit any greenhouse gases. The efficient high speed train system will connect all areas to the community park in the middle of the city. Citizens of the EcoLoam may also choose to bicycle around the city around the city.

Multi-Use Buildings

Multi-Use Buildings

The EcoLoam will employ multi-use buildings throughout the city. Commercial buildings will be built so that they can be easily used as office spaces, meeting rooms, or conference centers. EcoLoam will also combine different institutions for the convenience of the citizens. For example, ground level schools with public office spaces on the top floors.Making an easily accessible city is essential to EcoLoam’s commitment to sustainability.

Cycling Initiatives

Cycling Initiatives

A variety of bicycles will available to each citizen. EcoLoam will offer a common everyday bike to citizens making a quick trip, as well as bikes that have built in storage. For the citizens traveling with children there will be multi-passenger bikes. EcoLoam has even taken climate into consideration: bike accessories, such as rain covers, will be available. For those cold days solar power covers will warm up the riders. Each building will have a parking bike garages to eliminate clutter.

Community Park

There will be a large nature park in the center of the city where all major events of the city will occur. The function of the park as a community center is significant to the philosophies of Ecoloam.

Magnet Train

Magnet Train

Ecoloam will have a magnetically operated train. The technology of a magnetic train allows for super efficient travel without the emissions of greenhouse gasses. Kevin Bonsor explains in, “How Maglev trains Work, instead of using fossil fuel, the magnetic field created by the electrified coils in the guideway walls and the track combine to propel the train.” Citizens will able to to zip across the districts with high efficiency, saving time and maintaining the sustainability of the atmosphere.

Ecoloam is a sustainable city because of the mindfulness to the role of its citizens in the larger ecosystem.

Boat Power

Boat Power

The three districts of EcoLoam will be accessible by boat. Each boat is equipped with solar panels and paddles that will power the boats. Moreover, the energy generated will be stored for later use if a citizen cannot operate the boat by foot power. The boats will contain retractable covers for inclement weather conditions.

Energy Production

Energy Production

Rooftop gardens will cool the rooftops minimizing the amount of electricity needed to cool the buildings. Solar panels will line rooftops supplying additional energy to light, fuel, and sustain buildings' energy use. The main source of energy will be generated by wind turbines located on the outer rim of the city. EcoLoam is a digitally aware city, through an advanced system all parts of the city will be monitored to make the best use of energy. Stored energy will be directed to areas in need.
